Job Description


SAIC is seeking a Project Manager/Site Lead for the Engineering, Development, Integration, and Sustainment (EDIS) program which will be accountable for day-to-day Cost, Technical Performance and Schedule execution for the sustainment of the Multi-Mission Satellite Operations Center (MMSOC), Enterprise Ground System (EGS), and associated systems. This Site Lead position is located outside of Aurora, CO at Buckley Air Force Base.  The successful candidate is responsible for successfully leading the SAIC ground system sustainment team including a prime and multiple secondary subcontractors.


Key responsibilities are:

  • Technical and/or Project leadership and planning
  • Ensures program milestones are properly planned and executed, error free, within budget and on schedule
  • Ability to accomplish Control Account Manager (CAM) or similar financial responsibilities
  • Supports talent recruitment, training and career development abilities consistent with SAIC Human Resource processes and practices, including the management and development of team leads, managers, individual contributors and subcontractors
  • Leads workforce planning and implementation – including assigning the appropriately skilled/capable resources to programs, project and other business initiatives (consistent with budget and program constraints); forecasting current and future staffing needs/requirements and developing ramp up and roll off plans when required
  • Dissemination of company information in a professional and timely fashion
  • Enforcement of company and government policies, procedures and regulations


  • Must possess an active Top-Secret/SCI security clearance 
  • B.S. degree in a relevant field of study and 9 years of directly relevant work experience or M.S, degree and 7 years of directly relevant work experience
  • Prior experience with Satellite ground systems
  • Demonstrated experience managing teams in a dynamic operational environment working with Operations Site Customer leadership
  • Demonstrated Satellite and Ground system sustainment experience
  • Excellent communications skills both verbal and written with the proven ability to communicate with all levels both internally and externally. 
  • Demonstrated ability to drive closure and resolve complex and large-scale technical issues/challenges.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing technical talent and building pipelines to sustain technical expertise within the organization
  • Ability to motivate teams in a matrix environment

Desired Qualifications


  • Proven experience as a thought leader with the demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action and deliver results with significant impact. 
  • Experience managing / leading Department of Defense (DOD) programs in a services environment
  • Working knowledge of USAF Satellite Ground System sustainment operations and site processes
  • Previous management experience with Sustainment-based contracts.
  • Ability to provide high level summary of results and draw conclusions based on interpretation of data
