Description

SAIC is seeking an individual to support the IT Service Management Program in its implementation of ITIL processes, tools, and consulting across service teams. The selected candidate will work with all levels of staff and management to support the existing processes, assist with implementing process improvements, assist IT services in the use of the processes and with standard metrics that demonstrate delivery of value, and provide IT service management training in various forms.  The individual will be part of a large matrixed program team, will participate in following formal project management principles to deliver toward larger goals, and will be a champion for quality practices across the organization.


Primary Responsibilities:

  • Project and operational work related to any of the ITSM process areas
  • Maintain and execute test plans for changes/upgrades to the ITSM software
  • Generate and review monthly process metrics reports
  • Generate ad hoc reports as needed by the program
  • Lead process areas in the absence of the process managers
  • Ability to explain ideas/concepts to those who don’t understand; provide training
  • Lead the knowledge management coaches
  • Perform audits and analysis for trends in practice of the processes

Qualifications

Required Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science or related field and 2 years or more of relevant experience; can have 4 additional years of experience in lieu of degree
  • 2 - 4 years of demonstrated experience providing project training or operational support for an IT organization
  • Proven track record of working projects to completion
  • 2 - 4 years of experience leading or participating in IT improvement implementation projects
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience defining, gathering, analyzing and reporting data in an IT organization
  • Experience in using the BMC ITSM software suite
  • Ability to be self-directed, manage work that might not be distinctly defined and multi-task
  • Training in some areas of IT Service Management (ITIL)
  • Familiarity with Knowledge Centered Support
  • Demonstrated business writing ability (sample may be requested)
  • No clearance is required to start, but must be able to obtain and maintain a DOE L level security clearance

Desired Qualifications

 
Desired Skills:
  • ITIL Foundations Certified
  • Knowledge Centered Support (KCS) certification or training completed in KCS
  • HDI certified instructor training
  • Past IT technical experience
  • Proven experience instructing groups of people
  • Basic ability to write SQL, primarily used to select data from within the BMC software
  • Familiarity with SharePoint as a user and/or administrator
  • An active DOE L level security clearance
