SAIC is currently looking for information technology professionals who are interested in supporting the Air Force National Capital Region Information Technology Services (AF NCR ITS) as technical, logistics, and subject matter experts (SMEs).
 
The AF NCR ITS Team will provide professional, administrative, technical, logistics, and management support for the U.S. Air Force’s 844th Communications Group (844 CG) as the service provider to the Air Force District of Washington AFDW. For the AFDW and Air Force units throughout the NCR, the 844 CG mission includes supporting and providing input for accomplishing the programming, budgeting, financing, implementation, operations, support, and maintenance of assigned technology systems, including critical support for the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force and elements of the Headquarters, U.S. Air Force. Support requires work to have work performed at Joint Base Andrews (Andrews AFB) in Maryland.


This specific position will support the National Military Command Center (NMCC) Cryptographic Equipment Support. The candidate will install only National Security Agency (NSA)-approved cryptographic device as well as maintain, troubleshoot, remove, replace, re-key, and perform hardware/software upgrades on cryptographic devices, and coordinate with the 844 CS COMSEC office.


JOB DESCRIPTION: Monitors, controls, and isolates problems in a data communications network. Monitors all network activity. Activates/deactivates network lines according to established schedules. Performs first- and/or second-level problem determination (first level is help desk). Interfaces with users and/or network vendors. Responsible providing technical support for LAN/WAN or for a section of a larger network. May perform installation, modification and testing of network. (It should be understood that this is not intended to be a detailed nor comprehensive description of any individual employee's job content. Managers set the specific duties and responsibilities for each employee). Extensive knowledge in specialized functions. A wide and comprehensive acquaintance with, and understanding of, both general and specific aspects of the job and their practical application to complex problems and situations ordinarily encountered. Supervision Received: Minimal supervision. Work may be done without established procedures.

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: AA Degree in related discipline and six (6) years related experience; OR, High School and seven (7) years related experience with relevant certification.

 

Current IAT Level 2 certification (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, GSEC, Security+ ce, SSCP)
Current Computing Environment certification (e.g. MCTA, MSCA, VCA, VCP,  AWS CCP, AWS CSOA)
