Job Description


SAIC is seeking qualified IT Specialists to join our team. In preparation for the eventual award of multiple contract opportunities by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), SAIC is accepting resumes to fill IT Specialist positions in both our Washington DC, and the William J Hughes Technical Center (Atlantic City, NJ) locations. 

The SAIC Team has a long, successful record of support to the FAA, applying expertise and innovation to solve complex and dynamic problems while maintaining the US worldwide lead in aviation safety. The SAIC Team is seeking a diverse range of skillsets; management, business management, financial and budget analysis support, technical expertise in the areas of engineering navigation systems, NAS operations, Air Traffic, Management Information systems (MIS) and other technical areas related to Navigation support.

The successful candidates will provide expertise in compiling, arranging, storing and retrieval of information to facilitate support of the FAA customer, project, or program. Administers, evaluates, installs, maintains and provides overall support for LANs and WANs. Defines discrete systems with processes to link together complex systems and components with software applications to perform as a coordinated whole Provides Graphical User Interface (GUI) access to many databases, using the latest access tools available such as Java, CORBA, and C++. Designs, tests, and implements large scale LAN and WAN networks applications and troubleshoots problem areas. May include analysis of transition planning, intelligence formation requirements, and may develop architecture baselines.


  • Bachelor's degree in a related information technology field and six (6) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience. Ten (10) plus years experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in information technology.
  • Knowledge of software requirements, development (design, code, and unit test) analysis, and operational testing for highly complex, real-time, safety critical software systems for aviation and navigation systems.
  • Expertise in developing and using models and simulations to verify and validate developed software is essential.
  • Knowledge using C, C++, object-oriented development in UNIX-based workstation or PC environment.
