SAIC is currently looking for information technology professionals who are interested in supporting the Air Force National Capital Region Information Technology Services (AF NCR ITS) as technical, logistics, and subject matter experts (SMEs).
The AF NCR ITS Team will provide professional, administrative, technical, logistics, and management support for the U.S. Air Force’s 844th Communications Group (844 CG) as the service provider to the Air Force District of Washington AFDW. For the AFDW and Air Force units throughout the NCR, the 844 CG mission includes supporting and providing input for accomplishing the programming, budgeting, financing, implementation, operations, support, and maintenance of assigned technology systems, including critical support for the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force and elements of the Headquarters, U.S. Air Force. Support requires work to have work performed at Joint Base Andrews (Andrews AFB) in Maryland.
This specific position will support the National Military Command Center (NMCC) Command and Control Switching System (CCSS) Support team. The CCSS support includes providing operations and maintenance to the Pentagon Switch subscribers. CCSS service is a unique secure/non-secure conferencing network developed for military command and control facilities that provides mission-critical voice and data communications for senior level DoD and OSD leadership to plan and implement wartime and peacetime operations and was formerly called Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN).
JOB DESCRIPTION: Ensures the efforts of the deployment project managers, infrastructure management and systems management and engineering teams, Direct and manage efforts of telecom technicians, workloads, Stay apprised of all inter and intra organizational projects and issues in EUE, Ensure internal processes and procedures are documented and updated, Ensure that all OLA's for all relevant processes are created and maintained, Develop and conduct employee performance reviews and monitor progress towards objectives quarterly and provide updates and revisions as required. Responsible for telephone port allocations, Provide interface to Customer on high level issues or requests, Oversee day to day resolution of system problems and root cause analysis, Ensures documentation of entire Telecom Network and infrastructure, Ensures the Change Management Process is being followed, Collaborate with LAN/WAN organizations on current and future network configurations, Provide management and serve as an escalation point for the deployment and infrastructure staffs, Provides guidance to staff and monitors performance, Provide monthly reporting on open project, outstanding issues and staff performance, Work special projects as assigned by manager, Ensure that Telecom Equipment Tracking system is updated with all relevant changes as modifications are completed, Build efficient relationships with interface organizations (i.e., CREF, Site Support, ITO), Ensures that the staff meets the established SLAs, Monitors ticketing queues, Ensures system backups and preventative maintenance occur on a scheduled basis, Ensures maintenance vendors are performing to the contract, Oversees troubleshooting and resolution ensuring escalation in a timely fashion, Provides and keeps current detailed documentation of processes. Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories, and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines. Receives assignments in the form of objectives and establishes goals to meet outlined objectives. Provides direction to employees according to established policies and management guidance. Work is reviewed by management to measure whether objectives have been met.
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience.
