SAIC is seeking a Drafter / Computer Aided Design (CAD) Technician in El Paso, TX. This position requires the candidate to be responsible for performing activities involving design software to create designs and detailed schematics used to manufacture products, bracketry, mounting solutions on military related platforms of various models, types and sizes. These detailed technical drawings incorporate the input of engineers, military analyst and customers that can specify dimensions, codes, materials, and production methods. These professionals may specialize in many areas including, mechanical and electrical drafting.
Duties include but are not limited to:
Must be able to obtain a corporate travel expense credit card with no credit limitations due to financial constraints
Nonessential Skills and Experience:
Military background and Military vehicle and platform experience a plus.
Ability to work and be familiar in various work environments: office, field, assembly area, production area, warehouse area, military bases and test ranges.
Able to present ideas and designs in a professional manner to military and government customers, as required.
Familiarity with OSHA requirements
Environmental, Health & Safety (EH&S):
Work in a safe and environmentally friendly manner and observe all company EH&S procedures
Immediately notify the supervisor if there is any safety hazard, any equipment not operating correctly or if there are any questions regarding EH&S procedures
Attend required EH&S training

Be able to climb ladders; lift hand tools approx. 1-15 lbs. in weight to capture designs, measurements and dimensions on or around military platforms. Assist with lifts up to 50lbs as needed. Repetition with activity. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Work environment: The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.
