Description

The Compensation Principal will be a key role in establishing and administering enterprise-wide compensation policies, procedures, practices, and programs. This role will require government contracting compensation experience and will partner with Finance, Government Compliance, Payroll, HRIS and other stakeholders to develop new solutions, ensure compliance with SOX controls, respond to government contracting proposals, complete DCAA audits and audits of other regulatory organizations. 

Duties will include but not be limited to:

• Develop planning schedule, audit controls and processes for year-end compensation planning
• Participate in annual compensation surveys that support market pricing activities for the organization
• Complete annual forward pricing and DCAA audit with the government compliance team
• Lead annual review and adjustment of the company’s salary structure and annual market analysis
• Complete FLSA evaluations and FLSA audits as needed
• Develop complex analytical modeling, which requires strong excel skills to be used in manipulating and analyzing large compensation data sets
• Utilize strong knowledge and understanding of local, state, and federal laws regulating compensation practices especially those regulations specific to government contractors
• Act as administrator in maintaining the systems that support compensation best practices such as market pricing and salary structure maintenance, Market Pay updates (survey repository and analysis tool); HRIS system updates, year-end compensation merit and bonus planning
• Support enterprise-wide compensation communications by being a SME for updates to compensation intranet pages, compensation resource tools for employees and the HR community, policies, etc.
• Provide support with integration activities during periods of M&A as needed

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelors and 4-5 years or more of government contracting compensation experience; Masters and 3-4 years or more of government contracting compensation experience
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Strong verbal and written communications skills
• Ability to discuss technical issues with line management and HR
• Strong knowledge of Excel, Word and Powerpoint
• Knowledge of Fair Labor Standards Act, and other related Federal and State regulations

 Desired Skills: 
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), experience with MarketPay or comparable tool
