SAIC is looking for a Systems Engineer (IT Acquisition) to work in conjunction with the Department of Homeland Security Countering Weapons of Mass Destruction Office to assist the government with the formation and execution of an agile IT program. The position’s primary responsibility is to design, implement, test, integrate, deploy, and support an information architecture program migrating DHS CWMD’s data management to a cloud structure.
Uses cloud based frameworks and standards, defines software and cybersecurity requirements, development, implementation and testing processes, to establish the IT architecture program and its supporting elements;
Supports and/or performs functional and technical proof of concepts;
Acts as the government PM’s engineering lead to initiative and support this new program through the acquisition lifecycle
Extensive expertise in full cloud based architectures, cloud based cybersecurity (e.g. Risk Management Framework (RMF), FEDRAMP policies and procedures) and SDLC in technical approach and implementation of a large Enterprise environment;
The ability to integrate technical and functional considerations into comprehensive IT architecture designs
The ability to communicate effectively with CWMD executives, technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) and stakeholders.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
B.S. in related discipline
Minimum 10 years relevant hands-on experience including object oriented analysis, design and development of web-based applications of similar technology stack, size, and scope.
