Position Description: The Senior Proposal Writer will collaborate with SAIC experts and team members to develop compliant, compelling proposals in response to Federal Government solicitations.
Description of Duties:
Writes and leads technical, management, resume, and/or past performance sections and volumes.
Provides direction and oversight to supporting writers.
Works as part of a collaborative team to develop proposal sections that clearly articulate the team’s solution and strategy, approach to performing the work, experience, win themes, and discriminators.
Applies interpersonal and interviewing skills to gather needed information from internal and external personnel to support writing activities.
Researches and collaborates with SAIC professionals on the most effective way to present proposed approaches and solutions and substantiate any claims.
Writes clear, persuasive, and articulate proposal sections; translates complex ideas into easily understandable text.
Uses organizational skills to manage, assign, track, and reports on assignments, status, and issues and needs.
Identifies, resolves, mitigates, and escalates gaps and risks to proposal management and center leadership.
Develops and implements process improvements to help improve proposal quality.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field
10+ years of related experience with bachelor’s, 8+ years with master’s
Demonstrated success writing and leading technical, management, resume, and/or past performance volumes
Excellent writing skills, including understanding of grammatical rules, punctuation, sentence structure, and active/passive voice
Excellent organizational and team leadership skills to track and share work progress and action items using a variety of tools
Excellent Microsoft Word skills
Ability to surge work schedule to meet proposal schedule demands
Ability to work in a dynamic team environment with a variety of personnel and organizations
