Job Description


JOB DESCRIPTION: Responsible for supporting and maintaining workstations, laptops, and servers in an Research, Development, Test & Evaluation (RDTE) environment in support of Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) and Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division (NAWCAD).  Duties include setting up administrator and service accounts, maintaining system documentation, monitoring and enhancing system performance, installing software and operating system patches, and ensuring network security using Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS), Security Content Automation Protocol (SCAP) and Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guidelines (STIGs).  Make recommendations for hardware and software purchases, troubleshoot Local Area Network (LAN) and standalone assets, and provide backup recovery. Set up and maintain computer simulators for landing system interfaces. Provide computer support to ensure lab and building security.


Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience in systems administration and analysis, and, IAT Level II Certification (CompTIA Security +CE or equivalent).

Allowable Substitution: High School Diploma or Equivalent, and, IAT Level II Certification (CompTIA Security +CE or equivalent), and, at least eleven (11) years of experience in systems administration and analysis.



Desired Qualifications

 Desired experienced with ACAS, RedHat and CentOS Linux, Microsoft Windows 7/10 and Server 2016 operating systems; applying DISA STIGs and performing SCAP scans, working with Microsoft Windows Active Directory creating/removing users and computers and resetting user account passwords; and creating and applying domain group policy objects. Microsoft Windows OS and/or Linux OS and Microsoft Operating System certifications (MCITP, MCP, MCSE, etc.) desired.
