SAIC is seeking a Database Modeler in support of a concentrated effort at a large Federal Agency to bring legacy, high priority IT systems up to current and supported operating levels while also addressing critical needs for high availability, fail-over capability, decoupling of highly connected systems, and/or cloud-based solution implementations.
Designing or maintaining data representation models. Responsible for the definition and governance of the data model. Sets standards for how data is to be represented in corporate databases.
Identifies and manages data model domain data stewards and conducts data modeling enabling activities including the development of the Logical Data Model, Data Dictionary, Physical Data Models, data format specifications, model releases, data harmonization and mapping across the data models, the modification of tools to support data modeling, and software application programming interfaces and converters to enable data model implementations.
Shall have demonstrated skills, experience, and knowledge in supporting as well as implementing and maintaining Oracle and SQL data infrastructures as well as No-SQL data infrastructures
Collaborate with data source SMEs and technical customer leads to answer or document questions on structure, mission requirements and compliance concerns of the data flow and the data storage and representation in the corporate repositories.
Tasks may include developing data models for optimal performance in databases; designing data structures for data interchange; developing metadata structures including dictionaries, taxonomies and ontologies.
Provides technical consulting for teammates and application teams for data naming, classification, design, and handling as a part of the first line of defense for data controls in designing systems.
Suggests and implements improvements in architecture, team processes, and functions.
Provides subject matter expertise to meet customer technical, schedule and cost requirements.
Supports input to and development of analysis of alternates for systems future state considering high availability, fail-over capability, decoupling of highly connected systems, and/or cloud-based solution implementations.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, or related field and 9+ years of experience in IT, Data Analysis, Data Manipulation, or related field.

Experience in performing Analysis of Alternatives (AoA)
Experience with ER/Studio, Erwin Data Modeler, and Oracle SQL Developer Data Modeler
