SAIC is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to join our Chantilly, VA based team. The selected candidate should be proficient in project management and systems engineering and have an excellent record of performance. The candidate must have experience with the DoD or IC acquisition lifecycle.   

Job Responsibilities:

• Provide direct support to the customer to assist in overseeing the acquisition, systems engineering, design, integration and fielding of a complex system.
• Support the customer in the definition of architecture concepts, development of concept of operations, use cases, mission and acquisition requirements, development and/or review of system trades and mission analysis, development and assessment of measures of performance and measures of effectiveness
• Identify integration concepts and oversee systems integration
• Support program planning and budgeting, schedule tracking, change management, and contractual change management
• Provide technical guidance throughout the project to ensure the program is meeting objectives and performing to plan
• Attend system and contractor design reviews and program management reviews to assess design maturity, requirements compliance and to provide informed technical recommendations to the customer
• Proactively identify and assess emerging technical and programmatic risks at and work with the customer to develop and evaluate mitigation approaches
• Develop productive relationships with Prime Contractor counterparts, functional counterparts, and other subject matter experts
• Track development issues, significant accomplishments and upcoming events and provide status updates to the customer
• Author, review, and coordinate technical and acquisition documents

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related field
• 18+ years professional experience
• Experience in DOD/lC acquisition and program management processes
• Understanding of DOD/IC satellite and ground systems and architectures
• Experience working in a SETA role
• Systems engineering and system integration experience
• Experience in hardware / software development and integration
