Job Description


The SharePoint Engineer is a key member of the Software Engineering team in support of the Headquarters, U.S. Central Command J6 mission. The SharePoint Engineer is responsible for

  • Server administration, operation and maintenance of the SharePoint Farms and Office web app.
  • Implementing branding for entire SharePoint site and configuration using PowerShell scripts.
  • Develop custom tailored SharePoint workflows and data exports to provide maximum automation and availability of submitted data for reporting and metrics on all collected information.
  • Interact with customer throughout project lifecycle Serve as the technical and functional subject matter expert for SharePoint solutions internally and externally.

  • Elicit and analyze business processes and requirements from technical and non-technical teams. Organize tasks and estimate delivery times.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation.
  • Perform daily operations and maintenance tasks, to include maintaining SharePoint server farms servers and sites, patching the servers, troubleshooting issues, responding to the service desk, ticket escalations, and debugging and documenting legacy systems.

Skills and Knowledge Requirements

  • Significant experience with SharePoint Server Administration of SharePoint Farms (2013, 2016) including Administration, patching, troubleshooting, performance tuning, migration

  • Experience with Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) and SharePoint Server 2013 required, SharePoint Server 2016 desired.

  • Comprehensive experience with SharePoint configuration through the web UI and PowerShell Scripts

  • Experience with SharePoint branding with knowledge of creating and editing master pages, page layouts, HTML, and CSS

  • Perform daily operations and maintenance tasks, to include maintaining SharePoint server farms servers and troubleshooting issues.

  • Experience with Server Administration for Windows Server 2012 R2 / Windows Server 2016

  • Knowledge of SQL Server Administration (2012, 2014, 2016)

  • Knowledge and understanding of PKI Authentication and Kerberos

  • Understanding of SharePoint Object Model (CSOM, REST API) required.

  • Must be able to apply software development principles, concepts, and techniques including software design concepts, test methods, and integration practices

  • Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with stakeholders to define system requirements

  • Advanced knowledge and experience using Microsoft Office tools, to include Visio

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Project Server, Microsoft Team Foundation Server, and BMC Remedy workflows for task management

  • The ability to thrive in a fast paced, demanding environment where each day provides a new set of challenges under short time constraints involving complex network configuration and/or troubleshooting requirements

  • Knowledge of U.S. Department of Defense security requirements, regulations, policies, and procedures


Required Qualifications:


  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

  • Active Secret clearance is required.
  • 5+ years of hands on experience as a SharePoint engineer

  • CompTIA Security + CE certification required for DoD 8570 compliance

  • SharePoint Farm management and Power Shell scripting experience.
