SAIC is seeking a Senior Force Generation Capacity Building Advisor to support our GPOI contract in Uganda.   The Senior Force Generation Capacity Building Advisor will be the Program Manager’s senior most person in-country dedicated to advising the senior UPDF staff in ways  to improve their force generation, training management, and operational readiness institutional capabilities.  As senior advisory role, the Senior Force Generation Capacity Building Advisor's duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:

Assist the Ugandan Defense Forces (UPDF) to make measurable institutional progress towards improving its force generation and operational readiness processes, and effectively fulfills the role as the GPOI Program Office’s senior most expert on UPDF peacekeeping issues. 

Working closely with the Task Order’s other advisors, the Senior Force Generation Advisor will also receive guidance directly from the COR, and will serve as a stand-alone interface with the US Embassy, Partner nation military leadership, US military, international partners and other stakeholders associated with UPDF’s peace operations institutions. 

Work closely with the advisors and trainers conducting activities supporting the African Peacekeeping Rapid Response Partnership (APRRP). 

This position is contingent upon Government award

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

Completed U.S. or foreign equivalent MEL 4 (CGSC)

Military grade of O-5 or higher

Minimum of fifteen (15) years military operations and training experience cumulative with directly related experience in overseas program operations

Commanded a combat arms battalion level “armor, cavalry or infantry” in the U.S. or foreign military land forces 

Regional Experience in Sub-Saharan Africa

Experience in a U.S. or foreign military training and doctrine development organization, or permanent assignment to a U.S. or foreign military training school or combat training center

Experience in organizational development, conducting activities intended to drive institutional improvement and self-sufficient organizational change



Desired Qualifications

 French and/or Arabic language skills

Previous experience working ACOTA/GPOI missions
