POSITION: Engineering Technician – US Navy - MK-36 and MK-53 Decoy Launching Systems

LOCATION: Norfolk, VA and aboard US Navy ships at sea and ashore (CONUS and OCONUS)

JOB DESCRIPTION: This position will provide U.S. Navy Combat Systems engineering and technical support and subject matter expertise to Mid Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC), Code 292. Will conduct specified engineering/technical evaluations, perform equipment functional checks, perform troubleshooting/test/analysis and equipment repair to correct MK-36 & MK-53 Decoy Launching Systems, operation, maintenance, and connectivity faults. The candidate shall provide Onboard Maintenance Training (OBMT) to Ship's Force technicians in the operation, repair, and maintenance of the MK-36 & MK-53 Decoy Launching Systems. Perform/provide support during shipboard Combat Systems tasks including TSRA, INSURV and Tech Assist events. Assist ship's force technicians and government personnel at assigned locations to analyze and resolve malfunctions detected during equipment operation and test. Analyze equipment review and inspection data to determine source of fault, and recommend repair, replacement, or other corrective action. Suggest equipment engineering changes toward improving quality and reliability and to facilitate installation, maintenance, and repair. Report findings/discrepancies via 2-kilo, Prisms/ETC Software, de-brief and/or write a Technical Assistance Visit Report (TAVR)

Qualifications

REQUIRED GENERAL EXPERIENCE: A minimum of six (6) years full-time hands-on technical experience within last 15 years in the operation, maintenance, installation, test, and/or repair of electrical/electronic systems/equipment incorporated in Combat, ASW, USW, MIW, or C4I systems.

REQUIRED SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
• A minimum of three (3) years full-time engineering experience within the last 10 years in Combat systems, ASW, USW, MIW, or C4I in a hand on or supervisory capacity over technicians operating and maintaining Combat, ASW, USW, MIW, or C4I systems. Supervisory capacity includes: Team leader performing engineering support services such as:
o engineering change installations
o technical assists
o systems certifications
o INSURVs
o material condition assessments
o systems installations

• A minimum of four (4) years general hands-on experience performing programmatic and liaison support of varying levels by communicating, presentation of data, establishment of data bases and processes, conducting business, resolving scheduling and milestone date problems for the various customers.

• Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of both: MK-36 & MK-53 Decoy Launching Systems maintenance.
• Over 3 years of experience operating, maintaining, trouble- shooting, and testing MK-137 Mods 7 & 10 Nulka Launchers, MK-137 Mods 1, 2, &4 SRBOC Launchers and system components.
• Proficient in using general and special purpose electronic test equipment to perform organizational level maintenance.
• Knowledge of and skilled in basic soldering and connectorization skills etc.
• Demonstrated proficiency in the use of TAAS, MAT and MRQT software systems. Additionally, candidates shall have extensive experience using One-Touch, DoD Emall, Logicom and WEBFLIS to research supply issues.

OTHER CERTIFICATIONS and QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
• Avalid unexpired First Aid/CPR Certification from a nationally accepted organization (e.g., Red Cross).
• Valid unexpired U.S. Passport

REQUIRED CLEARANCE: Active DoD SECRET

TRAVEL REQUIRED: Up to 10%
