POSITION: Engineering Technician – US Navy – Harpoon Weapon System]
LOCATION: Norfolk, VA aboard US Navy ships ashore and afloat (CONUS/OCONUS )
JOB DESCRIPTION: This position will provide U.S. Navy Combat Systems engineering and technical support and subject matter expertise to Mid Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center (MARMC) Code 291 to conduct engineering/technical evaluations, perform equipment functional checks, perform troubleshooting/test/analysis and equipment repair to correct Harpoon Weapon System (HWS), operation, maintenance, installation, and connectivity faults. This position will provide Onboard Maintenance Training (OBMT) to Ship's Force technicians in the operation, repair, maintenance, and logistics support of Harpoon Weapon System (HWS); Harpoon Guided Missile Simulator (HGMS); Launcher Support Structures (LSS), Harpoon Weapon System Combat System Interface; Harpoon Ship Command Launcher Control Set (HSCLCS) AN/SWG-1A; and Ancillary and special purpose test equipment required in support of HSCLCS. The position will also perform/provide support during shipboard Combat Systems tasks including Pier Side Refurbishments, C5RA, CSPAT, ICMP, TSRA, INSURV programs and Tech Assist events. Duties of the position include:
• Assisting Ship's Force technicians and government personnel at assigned locations to analyze and resolve malfunctions detected during equipment operation and test.
• Analyzing equipment review and inspection data to determine source of fault, and recommend repair, replacement or other corrective action.
• Suggesting equipment engineering changes toward improving quality and reliability and to facilitate installation, maintenance and repair.
• Reporting findings/discrepancies as required to the designated TEAM LEADER and/or Section Head 210 via 2-kilo, Prisms/ETC Software, de-brief and/or write a Technical Assistance Visit Report (TAVR).
