Job Description



SAIC has an opportunity for a seasoned Business Analyst (BAn) to lead a team of fellow analysts responsible for the development and implementation of best practices and disciplines associated with value driven design.  In addition, the Lead BAn will collaborate with Business Architects (BAr) and federal Business Relationship Managers (BRM) in helping to surface and shape business needs.   The Lead BA will oversee and work within a team environment, demonstrating the ability to identify key business stakeholders, reaching out and establishing working relationships with them, and coordinating efforts in successfully eliciting business requirements.  The lead BAn will provide team guidance and coordination in discerning and utilizing the right mix of visual and textual materials, facilitating the efficient gathering of business needs and actionable requirements from stakeholders.  They will partner with their BAr and federal BRM counterparts in guiding and directing the BAn team when engaging in large complex initiatives to ensure that all aspects of business strategy are addressed to assess the value of proposed business changes.  The documented analysis outputs of the Lead BAn and their team are foundational to projects, architectural evaluations, and value stream optimization that must be communicated effectively to executive leadership and other technical professionals in order to recommend optimal solutions to business and technical challenges.


  • Provide day to day team direction, leadership, and planning
  • Demonstrate critical thinking and thought leadership to team members and individuals around the organization

  • Provide mentoring, and formal or informal training as needed

  • Aid in defining and maintaining the standardized role definition, responsibilities, and outputs of the Business Analyst community

  • Identify appropriate techniques for gathering business needs from stakeholders

  • Identify and document business processes using modeling standards like UML or BPMN

  • Provide oversight and drive business process improvement initiatives (lean based)

  • Provide application rationalization oversight, as the business analyst team identifies processes which are supported by applications, the underlying data that supports the process, and the technology infrastructure in place to support the process

  • Perform extensive documentation analysis to identify impact based on change requests




  • Bachelor's Degree ( 4 years’ experience in lieu of degree) ten (10) or more years of experience in Business Analysis

  • Strong executive level oral and written skills in communication, presentation, and facilitation with responsibilities for updating client and SAIC contract leadership

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience leading or managing teams

  • Working experience with Visio and documenting business processes

  • Demonstrate a working understanding of modeling and analysis tools

  • Modeling processes using various notation (Unified Modeling Language, Business Process Modeling Notation, Workflows, Swim lanes, etc)

  • Facilitating organizational change management strategies/plans, approaches and tactics with different business areas and personnel

  • Ability to pass a government NACI background investigation          



  • Government consulting experience
  • Formal business analysis expertise or certification (IIBA-International Institute of Business Analysis)

  • Experience working within Agile teams
