Description

The Defense Systems Group of SAIC is currently seeking an OCONUS Field Engineer to support its Force Protection operations in the Southwest Asia.

 

The candidate will provide systems support to Force Protection Programs and capabilities that will be fielded and sustained OCONUS. Support the hardware and software management of Force Protection Systems. Familiarity with Full Motion Video (FMV)/Microwave Line of Sight (MLoS) networking is required. The candidate will conduct threat assessments and develop site design packages addressing vulnerability issues. Must be familiar with Force Protection measures and emplacement/utilization of technology to meet Warfighter needs. Candidate will perform complex analysis ensuring all network performance and reliability mitigation assessments are addressed. Provides customer support liaison regarding product performance problems and suggested solutions which may require product exchanges or more complex problem solving. Plans, prepares and conducts 0n-the-job training as required in support of foregoing activities. May oversee a team of field service and network engineers and train, monitor, and otherwise direct, prioritize and report on team activities. Provide planning and support for user demonstrations, user feedback events, and operational assessments.

 

Requires in-depth customer interaction with military units on the ground during site visits. Must possess on-the-spot decision making. The candidate will also be required to oversee with the movement of repair parts from storage sites to the outlying locations.

 

   

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION: Bachelor’s and 5+ years of related technical and leadership experience is required (equivalent experience accepted in lieu of degree).

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Must possess oversight experience of hardware installation and custom networking troubleshooting skills. Must have 6-8 years of direct experience in areas of installing, maintaining and accounting for FMV/MLoS, mobile towers with MLoS and other payloads, and other Force Protection equipment programs. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office to include Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.


Must meet DoD Height/Weight standards. Must currently possess a SECRET security clearance. Must satisfactorily complete CONUS Replacement Center (CRC) requirements, including medical and dental requirements prior to deployment. Must be willing to live and work in austere, hostile environment for extended periods of time.
