Job Description


SAIC is seeking software engineers to provide the U.S. Air Force support for agile software development services in Boston, MA. The software engineers will be work in a culture of continuous integration and continuous delivery to support the mission. Some of the tasks the team will perform but not limited to; creating and implementing platform deployments; supporting application development teams in their various platform-related needs; ensuring the platform is stable, secure, and reliable; and integrating the platform with external enterprise core services.

Job Description: Candidate must have senior knowledge and senior hands-on experience in developing, implementing and leading software teams. As a senior engineer, this candidate is responsible for maintaining and improving the performance of existing software code, with duties to design and update software databases under contract and direction from the assigned Government Product Manager. Clear communication skills are required. The individual must have an astute ability in writing test scripts in an agile software development environment with an emphasis on automated test procedures, and continuous integration and continuous delivery of software. The individual shall recommend improvements to existing software applications as necessary. Individual shall be capable of performing the software tasks identified in the contract requirements in forming and working on Government / Contractor software teams.


Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience. In lieu of a degree an additional 4 years of experience is required in the following areas:


a) 5 years’ experience in full stack development to include Java, Web services, Database, and/or web application development.
b) 3 years’ experience with agile and lean philosophies
c) 2 years’ experience with DevSecOps tools and processes to include, but not limited to Git, Concourse, SonarQube, Fortify and ThreadFix
d) 2 years’ experience with container technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes.
e) 2 years’ experience providing system administration support to a diverse set of Operating Systems (Microsoft Windows, Linux, etc.)
f) Experience with Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration techniques
