The successful candidate will directly support all of the customer's systems as a Reliability and Maintainability Engineer working under the Fleet Support Team.
Evaluate equipment, systems and components and identify areas where reliability issues exist, opportunities for reliability growth, useful life may be nearing an end, and opportunities for cost avoidance/savings
Assist in the execution of reliability excellence/maintenance program. Writes and maintains reliability strategy documents
Analyze operational data and equipment performance history to develop recommendations for reliability improvements
Contribute to reliability program improvements through a deep understanding of failure modes, frequencies and corrective measures
Contribute to Quarterly Current Readiness Reviews and Reliability Centered Boards with internal and external stakeholders
Work with the NAVAIR Reliability Engineering group to develop and implement best practices. Assist in the development of a standard, repeatable, and reproducible Root Cause Analysis Process
Facilitate the use of Root Cause Analysis tools and techniques in the analysis of complex aviation readiness issues to identify true root cause, action plans to systemically correct readiness degraders, support the implementation of corrective actions, and monitor effectiveness of readiness improvement
The incumbent should also have qualifications with specific experience in:
Avionics equipment in the area of communication, navigation, mission systems
Failure Reporting, Analysis and Corrective Action System (FRACAS)
TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
BS Degree in Engineering/Science discipline, Math or Computer Science is required. A BS Degree in Electrical Engineering is preferred.
At least six (6) years of experience in a related Engineering/Science field is required. Three (3) of those six (6) years working with NAVAIR avionics systems is preferred.
Lexington Park, Maryland. Remote working in any of the contiguous United States possible for the right candidate.
