Position Title: Hardware Asset Manager
JOB DESCRIPTION: Plans, prepares, issues and controls daily and weekly schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved hardware transaction timed to meet mission requirements. Develops requirements and scheduling from lifecycle refresh plans and operations schedules and plans and manages material movement with purchasing, warehouse, and deployment. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential operational problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials and services are provided as needed. Schedules equipment and personnel, confirms material supply and demands, prepares work orders or purchase requests for the purchase of components or parts based on operational and lifecycle refresh schedules, technicians’ workloads, and inventory requirements. Coordinates with the procurement function to select and acquire replacement or new hardware following the customers’ policies and procedures for software purchasing in order to maximize the utility of software products at the lowest cost. Reviews hardward procurements and the status of on-hand hardware to ensure that vendor warranty support and/or service is included, has not expired, and properly documented. Coordinates interdepartmental activity with quality assurance, procurement, engineering, inventory control, etc.; schedules and expedites the movement of parts by means of move orders, stock transfers and requests for turn-in. LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT: Directly supervises individual contributors (skilled technicians, warehousemen, administrative support) and/or entry level professionals (bookkeepers)
PROBLEM COMPLEXITY: Administers and executes policies, processes, and procedures that affect subordinate employees and the workflow of the work unit. Leads daily operations of work unit.
FREEDOM TO ACT: Assignments are task or activity oriented. Work is reviewed for soundness of judgment and overall quality and efficiency.
IMPACT: Decisions impact work unit operations. Erroneous decisions or recommendations or failure to achieve results might cause delays in schedules and require the allocation of more people and financial resources.
LIAISON: Interacts internally primarily with subordinates and other supervisors. External interactions is typically with suppliers, vendors and/or customers. Primary purpose of liaison is information sharing and basic problem resolution.
QualificationsEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and six (6) years or more of related experience; Masters and four (4) years or more experience.
