We are currently seeking an innovative Electrical Engineer to join our Counter Unmanned Aircraft Systems (C-UAS) to support our NSWC Crane customer.  Select candidate will be responsible for supporting the systems electrical design activity from requirements definition through development, qualification testing.


JOB DESCRIPTION:   

  • Works with diverse project team of both contractor and government members
  • Collaborates with engineers and program team to create overall system and product design specifications
  • Provides innovative electrical and electro- mechanical design per system requirements
  • Rapid prototyping of electrical and/or electro- mechanical systems, including laboratory builds
  • Develops test plans for design validation
  • Tests systems and subsystems for design validation
  • Documents design with schematic drawings as well as leading design documentation 

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering
  • 2-5 years of experience in the design of electronic and/or electro-mechanical systems using SolidWorks software
  • Experience with microcontroller circuit design and programming
  • Strong problem solving skills, good communication skills, and ability to work in a team
  • Strong understanding of technology development and industry related technology trends
  • Familiar with standard electronic test and measurement equipment
  • Proficient in use of MS Office Suite
  • Must possess the ability to work successfully in a cross-functional team environment and be able to communicate effectively in both written and verbal forms with all levels of support
  • Self-motivated with the ability to take milestone objectives and develop plans to meet customer expectations (both internal and external) 
SECURITY CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: 
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret security clearance

Desired Qualifications

 
  • Experience with DC power management and distribution a plus
  • Experience with Lithium battery management a plus
  • Experience with the design of C-UAS or UAS and related systems is highly desired
