Job Description


JOB DESCRIPTION: Coordinates routine and transactional functions in support of industrial and government personnel security (PERSEC) programs and other security activities to ensure compliance with government and SAIC policies on the AF NCR ITS Program.  Responsible for managing and administering Program security aspects, including implementing personnel, physical, and information security requirements to ensure compliance with NISPOM, federal security regulations and PERSEC requirements. Process security information and data for employment records, security clearances, visit authorizations and property control. Coordinate with customer security as needed to maintain situational awareness on security issues, alerts and notifications. Areas of responsibility include programs and procedures for classified or proprietary materials, documents, equipment, and/or personnel and physical security. Maintains controlled security documents and information. Conduct initial pre-screening interviews of new hire candidates.  Process all clearance actions in accordance with government and SAIC PERSEC procedures. Conduct security education and awareness training, investigate security violations and incidents.  Prepare reports specifying preventive action. Working knowledge of government databases such as JPAS or E-Qip. Full knowledge of the job. Complete acquaintance with and understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the job and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered.


SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Limited supervision. No instructions needed on routine work, and general instructions given on new lines of work or special assignments.


IMPACT: Errors may be difficult to detect and would normally result in loss of time or expense to correct.


LIASON: Contacts are frequent with individuals representing other departments, and/or representing the U.S. Air Force. Contacts involve obtaining or providing information or data on matters of moderate importance to the function of the department or which may be a sensitive nature.


TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School and eleven (11) years or more related experience.
