Job Description


SAIC is seeking an HBSS Administrator in North Charleston, SC to support the US Navy.


Job Duties:

  • Configuring, deploying, and maintaining Host Base Security System (HBSS) for the Navy CND (Computer Network Defense) project.

  • Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot Navy Computer Network Defense (CND) classified and unclassified systems in regards to HBSS (McAfee ePO).  

  • Deploy Cyber Security mandated system upgrades, patches, and perform modifications to ensure systems are protected against known exploits.  

  • Support sustainment-engineering efforts in order to meet EXORD, OPORD, and TASKORD requirements.

  • Provide onsite technical assists in support of CND fielded systems for issues that cannot be resolved via distance support. 


  • Be able to travel 0 - 25%. Candidate must have or be able to obtain a US Passport.


Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors and nine years or more experience or 12 years of related experience with a HS/GED.
  • Active Secret Clearance and have eligibility for a Top Secret Clearance.
  • In depth knowledge of McAfee HBSS ePO administration.  
  • Experience with HBSS policy development and tuning.
  • Experience in configuring, deploying, and maintaining VMWare ESXi Server and Windows Server environments.
  • Current security certification in one of the following: CCNA Security, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, SSCP, CASP+ CE, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, OR GCIH.
  • 5 years minimum IT experience to include three (3) of the following (6) areas:
  • Software requirements
    Operational requirements
    Test and evaluation
    Advanced system architecture

  • Demonstrated experience in at least two (2) of the following areas:
  • Ability to plan and organize work and interact with technical and non-technical personnel translating user requirements into responsive applications.
    Demonstrated detailed knowledge of IA concepts and requirements.
    Demonstrated comprehensive knowledge of DOD military specifications and standards.
    System design integration planning for multiple large-scale installations.
    Hardware and software Evaluation.
    Application and System Assessments, planning execution and management.
    System requirements planning and oversight.
    Technical development product milestone scheduling.
Installation and configuration of hardware and software capabilities.
