Description

SAIC is looking for a well-qualified Senior Systems Engineer to join an exciting program in Kittery, ME.  The successful candidate will be a self-starter with a willingness to learn.  Job responsibilities include providing expertise in formulating solutions to complex engineering problems with emphasis in the electrical/electronic field for submarines and submersible systems associated with the Deep Submergence System Program (DSSP); planning work from initial concept to completed software/hardware for cognizant projects; and providing design reviews and technical engineering assessments of assigned systems and component modifications in the DSSP.


Qualifications

  • An active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for access to sensitive compartmented information (TS/SCI);
  • The ability to complete a counter-intelligence scope polygraph (CSP);
  • Shall have a Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering;
  • Shall have knowledge of the following:
    • Electrical Distribution Systems
    • Electric conversion and Control Components
    • Electrical Safety Devices
    • Electro-Mechanical Sensors
    • Transducers
    • Sonar System Concepts
    • Fiber Optic System concepts as it pertains to submarine and submersible systems; and
  • Shall have knowledge of the use of Navy and Industry standards, guides, and methods and be able to develop new techniques and criteria, as needed.

Desired Qualifications

 
  • An active Top Secret clearance with access to SCI;
  • Having completed a counter-intelligence scope polygraph (CSP) within the last five (5) years;
  • 10+ years experience in the electrical engineering field with experience in the review and development of engineering changes, to include drawings, technical manuals, maintenance procedures, and training curriculum.
