JOB DESCRIPTION:

SAIC is looking for a Strategic Communications Specialist to join our team in Fort Belvoir, VA. This person will Serve as an advisor and staff augmenter to the director of the Strategic Communications Office & PAO office chief for the Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA), FT Belvoir, VA.  Research, organize, analyze, and summarize data; conduct literature and media searches; develop preliminary findings, conclusions, and recommendations; and draft written reports and summaries for the DTRA Strategic Communications Office.  Assist in the development and presentation of the DTRA strategic communications plan, make recommendations on themes and target audiences, assess the effectiveness of the DTRA message on various media platforms. Develop white papers, point papers, and briefings, as required.  Interact with experienced technical staff, management, and government clients to better focus the DTRA message. Assist in the preparation, presentation, and follow-up of briefings.  Plan, attend, and document meetings and conferences.  Perform administrative actions as directed, e.g., process classified material, comply with administrative requirements, etc.  Current DTRA focus areas include security cooperation activities within the various Geographic Combatant Commands (GCCs), and countering Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD).  Work will be conducted on the government site at FT Belvoir, VA.  Employee may be required to travel domestically and overseas, as directed by the client. Total time spent on travel not expected to exceed 20%.

Qualifications

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Bachelors and ten (10) years or more of related experience; Masters and eight (8) years or more experience ; PhD or JD and two (2) years or more experience.

 

SECRET clearance is required.  All applicants must be able to obtain a Top Secret security clearance.

  • Experience in MS Office Suite
