Description

SAIC is seeking experienced Electrical, Mechanical, or Information Systems Engineers to join a team that supports NSWC Crane in a wide array of engineering services tasks required by various Electronic Warfare and Radar Technologies contracts in Crane, IN.

 

Requirements:

  • Comfortable with system requirements development, mapping or tracing to hardware and software elements and to higher level source requirements, requirements verification planning and execution

  • Familiarity with system architecting, Analysis of Alternatives

  • Understands Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) process implementation

  • Test and Evaluation planning and execution

  • System Safety analysis and planning

  • Systems sustainment planning

  • System configuration management

  • Possess the ability to define and write unambiguous requirements and strong product specifications.

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience

  • Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience; PhD and 0 years related experience

  • Ability to communicate efficiently with management via reports and updates on tasking progress.

  • US Citizen with the ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.

  • Highly self-motivated with the ability to execute tasking while maintaining the high level vision required to facilitate career and company growth long-term.

  • Ability to balance a diverse set of tasks of varying priorities with limited oversight

  • Strong technical research, technical writing, and technical presentation skills.

  • Well acquainted with Integrated Product Teams and should be able to create models and frameworks such as: the project integrated master schedule, work breakdown structures, system block diagrams and interface definition documents.

  • Able to draft the following plans: Project Management Plan, Systems Engineering Plan, Test and Evaluation Master Plan, Requirements Verification and Traceability document, Systems Safety Program Plan and its follow-on reports, the Configuration Management Plan, and others as may be required under SETR processes.

Desired Experience:

  • Shipboard systems qualification processes, and shipboard integration processes

  • DoD Acquisition instructions and process (DAU Acquisition Handbook, online)

  • NAVSEA Systems Engineering Technical Review (SETR) processes, NAVSEA PEO IWS Design Reference Manual

  • Naval Systems Engineering Guide (Oct 2004)

  • System Safety Practice implementation, Mil-Std-882E

  • Shipboard Shock and Vibration, Equipment Environmental Qualification, Electromagnetic Emission and Susceptibility Testing prescribed by Mil-DTL-901E, Mil-Std-810G, Mil-Std-167-1A, Mil-Std-461G

  • Navy Planned Maintenance System Implementation implemented by NAVSEA INST 4790.8c and DoD Reliability Centered Maintenance Practice defined by  and Mil-Std-3034a

  • Microsoft Project

  • IBM Rational DOORS

  • Mathworks or Matlab

  • National Instruments LabVIEW

  • Familiarity with Linux operating system
