SAIC has an opening for an Innovation Lab SETA supporting research and development (R&D) activities in a fast-paced and dynamic environment within a lab.

The lab is part of a CONUS and OCONUS enterprise sharing resources (IT infrastructure and subject matter experts), and general mission goals.  

 

 

Job Description:

 

 

The successful applicant will directly support the lab Chief and also supports activities of the lab enterprise.  The applicant must provide high confidence value-added judgment, exceptional technical expertise, strong written and oral skills, insightful guidance and counsel, and advice to all levels of government management from junior through senior leadership at site. A deep understanding of and experience in large/complex operational systems is desirable. Understanding and investigating leading edge enabling technologies, e.g., machine learning, activity-based collection, small satellites; neural networks, imagery science, and application development.

 

  

Job Responsibilities

 

Advise and support the Government in all project management phases of the innovation

and R&D lifecycles for multiple projects and leverage the Project Management 

Framework.  Including:

   

Active in customer outreach activities

 

Identify technical and operational needs and opportunities; supports futures planning; identify strategic technical direction

 

Identify and/or assess technical potential solutions to needs

 

Recommend priorities and resources necessary to accomplish objectives

 

Ensure Project Management Tool captures required key information

 

Facilitate project onboarding

 

Track project progress and recommend activities to address problems

 

Track utilization of lab resources (personnel and IT infrastructure)

 

Facilitate transitions from innovation or R&D environments to fully supported

 

operational environments

 

Support and contribute to the lab’s Engineering Review Board (ERB)

 

Prioritize, schedule, and facilitate meetings

 

Capture and document key decisions

 

Participate in governance meetings and activities

 

Identify and produce lab highlight reports

 

Support enterprise-related tasking and objectives, coordinating across labs as needed

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Qualifications

Clearance required to start: TS/SCI Polygraph

 

Clearance able to maintain: TS/SCI Polygraph


Bachelors and nine (9) years  or more experience or Masters and seven (7) or more experience; PhD and four (4) years or more experience.

 

Minimum 10 years relevant experience in one or more areas:    

Geospatial Intelligence Community support

Knowledge of Imagery Science

Knowledge of GEOINT collection

Signal processing and/or data processing

Systems Engineering (i.e., SETA) and/or project management

Knowledge of the overhead collection Intelligence Community

Knowledge of the intelligence lifecycle
