SAIC is seeking an AWS Cloud Systems Engineer for our North Charleston, SC location.

Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, etc.) to meet business requirements
• Develop and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using tools like Terraform or Cloud Formation
• Automate infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, and application deployment using CI/CD pipelines
• Monitor system performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement performance tuning strategies
• Implement and manage security measures to protect cloud infrastructure and data
• Stay up-to-date on the latest AWS services and industry best practices
• Participate in on-call rotation to ensure system availability and address incidents
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of technical documentation

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Experience accepted in lieu of degree. 
• Require at least one: CompTIA Security+, CompTIA Advanced Security Practitioner (CASP), or Certified Information System Security Professional (CISSP)
• Strong understanding of AWS core services (EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, etc.)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation
• Proficiency in scripting languages like Python or Bash for automation tasks
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, or AWS Code Pipeline
• Solid understanding of networking concepts and security best practices
• Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• 3+ years of experience in cloud-based system design, with a strong focus on security
• Must be a US Citizen with an active Secret clearance and the ability to obtain a Top Secret

Desired:

• Experience moving systems from on-premise environments to cloud-based hosting
• AWS certifications (e.g., Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
• Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes
• Knowledge of monitoring and logging tools like CloudWatch
• Experience with Windows and Linux based Operating Systems
• Database experience (Oracle, Microsoft SQL, etc.)
• Knowledge of DoD STIGs
