Description
SAIC is looking for an experienced Network & Communications Manager to join our team supporting the US government agency in the National Capital Region. The Network & Communications Manager has a pivotal role in being responsible for ensuring the seamless operation, security, and efficiency of the organization’s various network and telephony services, with a focus on Tier 2-3 system support and a diverse range of critical systems, the Network & Communications Manager is integral to maintaining a robust IT environment. The role collaborates closely with other infrastructure and application teams and manages escalating complex challenges to their higher-level specialists when needed. The Network & Communications Manager will manage Infrastructure supporting applications and systems within the customer’s multi-faceted network infrastructure, spanning multiple platforms residing on multiple technological enclaves.
The responsibility for these services includes incident and problem management, response and escalations, patch and upgrade management, on-call rotation, responsibility for a 24x7 NOC, and overall operational management of the network and telephony services and team. This also includes future-planning, coaching, and development of the team, and working with peer teams to investigate and resolve issues as needed and participating in DR exercises. The ability to interface and work with the customer professionally and exhibit leadership qualities is paramount.
