Description

Lead Test Systems Engineer

Requirements, Interface & Network – SAIC Defense Space & Strategic Division:

Support to Senior Leadership, Program Managers, and Chief Development Tester working classified programs for Space Systems Command at Schriever AFB, Colorado Springs.  This is in support of the Space Domain Awareness & Combat Power Directorate (SDACP) supporting the functional engineering division in Los Angeles, CA. The position will be integrated with the OW-ITF at Schriever SFB.  Broad experience with the DoD program acquisition processes and documents required for acquisition planning, program execution, and DoD milestone decisions (as tailored from DoDI 5000.02).   Experience with Modeling and Simulation background and MATLAB is required.  Experience with tools like STK or any prime contractor satellite M&S tools would be especially useful.  Use of MBSE SW like Cameo is also useful but secondary.

  • Need to be able to quickly develop and present Test Strategy briefings and documents for future satellite acquisition planning (e.g., ASP, ASD, TEMP, etc.).
  • Need to contribute to Space and Ground segments development and decision-making discussions (PMRs, IPTs and Leadership Tag up meetings).
  • Required to participated in SZE's division’s process documents to be used at the Enterprise level for program development, this may include linkages to architectural roadmaps developed by the Portfolio Architect (SSC practices).
  • Assist in reviews of 63-119 that applies to operational testing and directs a process for certification of system readiness for dedicated operational test and evaluation as required by Department of Defense Instruction (DoDI) 5000.02, Operation of the Defense Acquisition System.
  • General understanding of multi-mission space operations and architecture practices.
  • Skilled at facilitating objective review of issues and leading team through issue resolution process.
  • Ability to formulate defensible recommendations for customer on complex programmatic/technical issues in a fast-paced dynamic environment.
  • Must communicate effectively with senior management as well as employees at all levels; strong writing skills required.
  • 15+ years systems engineering experience mandatory; Knowledge of Space Control Programs, Space Domain Awareness, etc. preferable.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors of Science Degree in Engineering or Science field mandatory with 9 years system engineering experience.
  • Experience with Modeling and Simulation.
  • MATLAB is required.
  • Experience in developing test strategies.  
  • Active TS/SCI Clearance.

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
