We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated and analytical Technical Instructor / Course Developer to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and delivering high-quality technical training programs to Navy and Department of Defense (DoD) personnel, ensuring they are equipped with the knowledge and skills needed to perform their duties effectively.

Work is performed on site in Norfolk, VA and Virginia Beach, VA.

This position is contingent upon award news Spring of 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and update technical training courses and materials, including lesson plans, presentations, manuals, exercises, and assessments.
  • Deliver high-quality technical instruction to Navy and DoD personnel through classroom, virtual, and hands-on training sessions.
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and other stakeholders to gather and incorporate necessary technical information into training programs.
  • Conduct needs assessments and analysis to identify training requirements and gaps, and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs through feedback, assessments, and performance metrics, and implement improvements as needed.
  • Stay current with the latest developments in relevant technologies, military standards, and instructional methodologies to ensure training content remains up-to-date.
  • Maintain comprehensive records of training activities, participant progress, and certification statuses.
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to junior instructors and trainees, fostering a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of training policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Participate in the planning and coordination of training events, exercises, and simulations.
  • Ensure compliance with all Navy and DoD regulations, policies, and security protocols in the development and delivery of training programs.
  • Travel as required to deliver training at various locations, both within the United States and internationally.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Training Certification.
  • Eight (8) years of experience as instructor of Navy Training Plans and training curricula, to include: developing appropriate course material, hands on practical experience with techniques being taught, and researching latest technical discipline practices.
  • Strong knowledge of Navy and DoD operational procedures, technologies, and systems.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information clearly and effectively.
  • Proven experience in developing and delivering technical training programs, both in-person and virtually.
  • Proficiency in using instructional technology and tools, such as Learning Management Systems (LMS), multimedia software, and virtual training platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple training programs simultaneously.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams and adapt to the dynamic needs of military personnel.
  • Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and professional development.

Required Security Clearance:

  • US Citizenship required.
  • Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
    • Active Interim Secret or final Secret clearance is preferred.
