Position Overview: We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Material Handling Laborer to join our talented team. In this role, you will prepare and organize materials and products for distribution or storage, including moving, loading, and unloading equipment. You will operate forklifts and other material-handling machinery to transport items, and manually manage freight by loading, unloading, unpacking, and shelving items in designated storage locations.

Work is performed on site in Norfolk, VA and Virginia Beach, VA.

This position is contingent upon award news Spring of 2026.

Key Responsibilities:

• Receive and inspect incoming materials.
  
• Store materials in designated locations.
  
• Prepare and arrange materials and products in bulk for distribution or storage.
  
• Move and load or unload equipment, materials, and products.
  
• Drive forklifts and related material-handling machinery and equipment to move materials. 
  
• Manually load or unload freight cars, trucks, or other transporting devices; unpacking, shelving, or placing items in proper storage locations.
  
• Perform cycle counts and physical inventories.
  
• Manage the shipping and receiving of materials.
  
• Keep material handling equipment in good condition.
  
• Convey purchasing requirements.
  
• Handle returns by completing requisite documentation.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required.
  
• At least two (2) years of experience to the job duties. 
• Able to lift heavy objects safely and efficiently.
  
• Meet deadlines and achieve targets efficiently.
  
• Able to organize materials in the delivery truck or on shelves.
  
• Ability to follow warehouse guidelines for inventory based on customer orders. 
  
• Demonstrated organizational skills as it relates to material handling.
  
• Familiar with inventory management systems and software.
  
• Demonstrated communication and teamwork abilities.
  
• Communicate clearly and effectively with management and production line staff. 

Required Security Clearance:

• US Citizenship required.
• Must possess or be able to obtain a Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
  • Active Interim Secret or final Secret clearance is preferred.

Certification:

• Forklift Certification preferred or ability to obtain.
