SAIC is looking for a ONE-Net Systems Engineer with experience in enterprise networks to provide Tier IV support to OCONUS Navy Enterprise Network (ONE-Net) Europe region (EU). The ONE-Net Tier IV for EU is the principal liaison between NIWC PAC ONE-Net ISEA and Engineering with NCTS Naples and associated ONE-Net sites in Europe. This position is permanently located in NAPLES, ITALY and the potential for CONUS and OCONUS travel as well as short deployment periods to US Navy shore sites exists.

JOB DUTIES: 

  • Provide on-site ashore enterprise networks engineering subject matter expertise, coordination and act as primary liaison between ONE-Net ISEA and Engineering (NIWC PAC) and NCTS Naples.
  • Provide Tier IV (fault tolerant site infrastructure) technical support to both Fleet and NIWC Enterprise customers in support of ONE-Net networks and applications. 
  • Provide engineering and coordination services to support the ONE-Net Request for Change (RFC) process (in support of speed to capability for Navy networks). 
  • Provide engineering technical services to assist with system integration and site activation planning to include the formulation and tracking of delivery plans for equipment sub-systems to support ONE-Net requirements and integration into Navy Next Enterprise Networks (NEN).
  • Assist with installing and integrating ONE-Net systems to replace legacy networks in support of OCONUS Theater Network Operations and Security Centers (TNOSCs) at Naval Computer and Telecommunications Station (NCTS) Naples and outlying Navy ports/stations as required to include TNOSCs at NCTS Bahrain and NCTS Far East.
  • Provide on-call 24/7 support (via telephone, chat or e-mail) and on-site (travel) services on equipment/systems to perform troubleshooting, correct Casualty Reports (CASREPs), provide Tier IV assistance, checkout, repair, and test worldwide.
  • Provide SME services to assist with preparation and analysis of integration designs, implementation concepts and systems to include reviewing and assisting in the reduction of program risk per applicable risk management plans. 
  • Assist enterprise program offices and Fleet customers with the employment of technical solutions associated with the NEN and ONE-Net “Deployable-Embarkable” project and concurrent safeguarding of approved Navy network security directives. Classification of systems supported includes UNCLASSIFIED, CONFIDENTIAL and SECRET (to include CENTRIXS Coalition). 
  • Be available to provide on-call 24/7 support (via telephone, chat or e-mail) and on-site (travel) services on equipment/systems to perform troubleshooting, correct system casualties reported via Navy Casualty Report (CASREP), provide Tier IV assistance, checkout, repair, and test worldwide.
  • Support Pilot testing and deployment of ONE-Net hardware and software upgrades and updates for workstations, servers, and network equipment.

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors Degree and five (5) years or more relevant experience. Years of experience in lieu of degree will be taken under consideration.
  • Five (5) or more years direct relevant experience supporting a large enterprise network infrastructure.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.
  • Must have an Active Secret Clearance.
  • Must have have completed an IAT Level II (Sec+ and Windows operating system or network certification).
  • Must be experienced with the following: Windows OS and Windows Server, VMWare, vSphere, Dell servers.
  • Experienced with Cisco routers and switches and network engineering. 
  • LAN/WAN topologies.
  • Experience with SCCM/MECM.

DESIRED SKILLS:

  • Excellent technical troubleshooting, problem solving and customer service skills.
  • Experience supporting PEO Digital / NAVWAR / NIWC PAC programs of records is a plus.
