SAIC is seeking a highly motivated Full Stack Tech Lead to join our biometrics team. This role is ideal for a senior software engineer who enjoys mentoring developers, leading technical decisions, and building scalable applications that run in both cloud and edge environments. You will play a critical role in shaping the development process while working closely with enterprise architects, engineers, and stakeholders.

Work Arrangement: Hybrid, 2 days per week on-site in Ashburn, VA required. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of developers in designing, implementing, and maintaining biometric processing applications.
  • Develop and maintain software in one or more of the following languages: Python, C#, or Java (Python and C# are most commonly used on the team).
  • Provide mentorship, conduct code reviews, and contribute to task planning.
  • Collaborate with enterprise architecture teams to define system design and best practices.
  • Support and troubleshoot deployed biometric solutions in production environments.
  • Work with CI/CD pipelines and cloud-based deployments as needed (prior experience is helpful but not required).

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship with the ability to obtain a CBP Background Investigation (BI) clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
  • 9+ years of experience in software development.
  • Strong expertise in at least one of the following: Python, C#, or Java.
  • Experience leading or mentoring developers in an agile environment.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing (AWS, Azure, or GCP) or distributed systems.
  • Proficiency in Git-based source control and modern development workflows.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications (Nice-to-Have, but Not Required):

  • Experience in biometrics, computer vision, or machine learning techniques.
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices.
  • Basic understanding of DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure as code).
  • Experience with cloud-native application development or serverless computing.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity best practices and secure coding principles.
