SAIC is seeking an Administrative Specialist to provide full time support on-site in the Office of Information Counsel (OIC) Litigation Counsel working as part of contract team with the DoD Office of the General Counsel (OGC).

Responsibilities to include:

  • Prepare, process, and submit telephone call and visit requests for opposing counsel to visit clients detained by the Department of Defense.
  • Draft correspondence, memoranda requiring independent judgment as to content; compile and analyze information from a variety of sources to prepare reports; ensure correspondence accuracy, format, spelling, and grammar; assemble enclosures, attachments, and other reference documentation before submission of the information to superiors for concurrence, approval and signature; make minor corrections to incoming and outgoing correspondence, recommend format and content changes and, if necessary, return to originator for corrections; and develop read-ahead material when required.
  • Review correspondence and other materials prepared for the information and signature for appropriate content, coordination, and routing.
  • Maintain files and records and perform office administrative duties to include copying and distribution, data input, and database management.
  • Prepare travel arrangements for federal staff.
  • Track and coordinate all taskers within the office to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Manage senior leadership calendars and organize office-level meetings, entrance into various locations, parking, materials, and equipment.
  • Facilitate external meetings, working groups, and technical and operational challenge interchange meetings.
  • Coordinate closely with OGC(Legal Counsel) and OGC(Litigation Counsel).
  • Hand carry legal actions and packages to and from coordinating offices.

Qualifications

Educational Requirement:

  • Years of experience will be accepted in lieu of a degree.

Required Experience/Skills:

  • Two years of relevant experience including using and maintaining SharePoint sites and Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and common office software applications.
  • Fluency with, and understanding of, DoD, Joint Staff, and the Military Departments standards of practice.

Desired Experience/Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Previous government, law office, corporate general counsel office, or JAG office experience.
  • DoD experience.

Required Clearance:

  • Active Secret Clearance.
