Description

This position will be responsible for design, guidance and oversight related to the overall IT architecture for NOAA's National Weather Service Line Office, ensuring alignment with business strategies, future needs, and technological advancements by creating a holistic view of the organization's technology landscape, including applications, data, infrastructure, and processes.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting the government in the development of an enterprise-level architectural framework and establishing a model to implement delivery of enterprise-level information technology services and products utilizing a Shared Service approach
  • Leading the development of NWS enterprise architecture governance in order to establish standards for processes, data, systems, security, and information technologies
  • Conducting gap analysis and developing a strategic roadmap to achieve the future-state, including both short-term and long-term plans
  • Aiding the ACIO with drafting, updating, and maintaining multi-year strategic plans
  • Assessing current organizational strategies and coordinating with executive leadership to ensure NWS mission and strategic goals alignment to higher-level strategies
  • Leading the assessment of the current-state and future-state reference architecture that supports NWS IT strategies and priorities
  • Leading the development of performance measures related to IT strategy
  • Leading the project management of all enterprise architecture support
  • Leading the creation of blueprints, recommendations, and actionable roadmaps for the future of the NWS IT architecture
  • Understanding the organizational policies and procedures for accuracy of solutions and deliverables to the client
  • Demonstrating a commitment to quality and customer support

 

Qualifications

Education/Training:

  • Masters or Bachelor’s Degree +2 additional years of professional experience
  • Minimum Experience & Skills
  • 20 or more years of professional experience
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and have the ability to pass a background check
  • 5 years of experience in Enterprise Architecture
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent Attention to Details

Desired Education/Certifications & Skills

  • Open Group Architecture Framework (TOGAF) Certification
  • Cloud Service Provider (CSP) Certification
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
