SAIC is hiring a .NET Developer located in Pensacola, FL. This position will be supporting Training & Education Management Systems for Naval Education and Training Command (NETC). The roles primary focus is with Naval Education and Training Future Officer and Citizenship User System (NETFOCUS).
The position will require onsite support 2 days a week (5 days during special events/releases) with the potential to go onsite daily in the future. Candidates must be local to the area.
The .NET Developer will require:
- Maintain existing web applications to include troubleshooting of web servers, programming changes, database structures, performance monitoring, and associated documentation.
- Support end users, troubleshoots workflow problems, creates ad hoc queries, analyzes and modifies data when necessary.
- Maintain database structures to include tables, views, triggers, stored procedures, and functions.
- Develop applications in ASP.NET Webforms and ASP.NET MVC using the Microsoft Visual Studio 2016 (or later) product suite and C# and Visual Basic programming languages.
- Develop Graphical User Interface (GUI) utilizing HTML5 standard for page structure, CSS and Bootstrap for styling, certain client-side technologies for efficiency such as JavaScript and jQuery.
- Utilize AJAX for targeted server data requests vs. full-page rendering.
- Provide input to assist in formulating test scripts and plans for formal testing of software products.
- Provide information, guidance, procedures and/or other applicable documentation to assist independent testers in the QA testing process.
- Coordinate with Database Administrators (DBA) on issues that require higher user-privilege to address or implement, such as table space maintenance, schema creation, restarting of application pool, and/or for assistance in trouble-shooting issues of a systemic nature.
- Work closely with other developers, QA analysts, project managers and business subject matter experts to design and develop custom software systems within a government enterprise environment.
- Write and implement efficient code using best practices and approved coding patterns.
- Ensure that software is fully tested and meets functional requirements.
- Identify the impact on systems of software upgrades and new technology.
- Facilitate collection of detailed functional requirements from Program Managers, staff, and end-users.
- Develop database queries and reports to accommodate unique stakeholder requirements and data calls.
- Assist in troubleshooting system performance issues. Design and distribute query and report formats to provide content, status and exception data to users.
- Examine existing information system schematics and related supporting software documentation.
Qualifications
Required Experience and Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science and two (2) years of experience; six (6) years or more of relevant experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
Required skills:
- Web programming and support experience using web development tools (e.g., Microsoft Visual Studio’s .NET C#, & Visual Basic, Oracle) to develop, modify, and maintain software. Tasks include software coding and compilation, deployment, documentation, testing, and maintenance.
Certifications:
- Active Security+ certification or comparable to comply with DoD Cyber Workforce requirements.
- Must have an active Interim Secret security clearance with the ability to obtain Top Secret. Will need to begin
Desired skills:
- Experience with JavaScript (AJAX, jQuery)
- Experience using MVC architectures.
- Familiarity with relational databases such as Oracle, PL, and SQL.
- Experience with Crystal Reports.
- Experience with Tableau
