SAIC is seeking a Cloud Engineer with a diverse background in hardware engineering, network engineering, and requirements management to support the Air Force Lifecycle Management Center Office for Cryptologic and Cyber Systems Division (AFLCMC/HNCJ) in its goal of developing a Joint Cyber Command and Control (JCC2) Battle Management capability in support of USCYBERCOM 2.0 initiatives. JCC2 Battle Management merges JC-O and JC-R into a single capability to provide the Joint Force with the ability to understand readiness of the Cyber Mission Force and situational awareness of Cyber Operations (CO).

As a JCC2 Cloud Engineer, you'll work in a government-led agile team. Your role will span the entire software lifecycle, from exploration to development, operations, and sustainment. You'll be tasked with implementing cutting-edge, cost-effective solutions in line with program priorities. Your focus will be on quality and innovation, balancing productivity with minimal technical debt.

Responsibilities include:

  • Architect, deploy, and document fault-tolerant, multi-region applications leveraged by over 100 AWS customer accounts.
  • Make cloud-savvy decisions that improve cost optimization, scalability, and operational management of existing Cloud One common services.
  • Provide specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, implementation techniques, application & data migration techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
  • Develop and conduct testing of multi-region failover capabilities within the new system.
  • Maintain technical expertise on relevant industry standards and in cloud computing and virtualization technologies such as cloud service provider architecture.
  • Modernize existing cloud common services using new cloud computing and virtualization technologies.
  • May also provide systems engineering activities such as: Requirements Definition, Analysis and Engineering, System Architecting, System Analysis and Design, Interface and Data Architectures, Validation and Verification, System Integration, System & Op. Performance Analysis, Lifecycle Cost Analysis & Estimation, and Decision Analysis.
  • Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies to translate customer requirements into hardware and software specifications. 

Qualifications

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and three (3) years or more experience
  • Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree 

Required Clearance:

  • SECRET with ability to attain a TS/SCI

Required Certifications:

  • Security + 

U.S. citizenship required

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Git Lab experience
  • Terraform/Terragrunt experience
  • Cloud networking experience (Amazon VPC, Transit Gateway, advanced NACL/Security Group knowledge)
  • Experience deploying and running containerized applications in the cloud (Docker)
  • Kubernetes design, deployment, operations, and sustainment
  • Knowledge of core AWS computer services (EC2, ECS, Elastic Beanstalk, Elastic load balancing)
  • Knowledge of cloud infrastructure/application-level monitoring (CloudWatch, canaries, APM)
  • Knowledge of SAML federation (Active Directory/ADFS)
  • Firewall configuration (Palo Alto/Barracuda) 
Desired Experience and Skills:
  • Minimum 4 years designing and deploying infrastructure to run COTS/GOTS applications in AWS
  • Minimum IAT II Certification (or equivalent) (Cyber Awareness, ITIL, Security + or higher)
  • Minimum secret clearance
  • Minimum AWS Solutions Architect - Associate
  • Jenkins experience
  • Atlassian tools (Jira/Confluence) experience
  • Active Directory/ADFS experience
  • Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (Amazon WorkSpaces, Guacamole)
  • EKS
  • Grafana/Prometheus
  • F5 BIG-IP
  • Experience designing, deploying, and operating fault-tolerant, multi-region applications in AWS
  • Experience testing multi-region failover capabilities
  • Experience in DoD cloud environments 

Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
