SAIC has an opportunity for a Mission System Engineer to join an elite team in Springfield, VA providing Systems Engineering and Technical Advisory (SETA) services focused on Mission Processing, Product Quality, and Systems Engineering. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support product quality evaluation and product delivery on multiple technical programs.
  • Provide technical leadership by evaluating and recommending courses of action on activities impacting mission data processing and dissemination, infrastructure systems engineering, full mission systems lifecycle (from concept development, enterprise requirements definition, integration and test, operations and maintenance, and decommissioning)
  • Enable successful testing by implementing test plans, supporting test status meetings, facilitating test readiness and/or checkpoint reviews, assess and provide comments on system discrepancy as part of operational transition activities.
  • Identify risk/issues and process improvements to enable product quality improvements that enhance efficiencies, accuracy, and usability of GEOINT products for the user community.
  • Evaluate mission architectures, propose changes to technology insertions that improve utility of multi-intelligence data across multiple missions.
  • Assess software and hardware delivery schedules for the government customer, including coordinating schedule updates across contractor support staff.
  • Identify architecture capability gaps and customer needs to support ICD level strategic planning.
  • Conduct trade studies, produce technical documents, reports and presentations for customers.

Qualifications

Required:

  • US Citizenship
  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, engineering, mathematics (STEM) or relevant field and nine (9) years or more experience; Master’s Degree in STEM or relevant field and seven (7) years or more experience.
  • Experience with GEOINT product cycle, products, and libraries.
  • Familiar with mission systems and systems engineering processes.
  • Experience with project management supporting the delivery, integration, and transition of mission systems and/or mission applications.
  • Ability to work independently to support multiple government customers and large, complex projects to address organization’s needs.
  • Self-starter proactively addresses customer requirements without supervision; readily defines solutions for broad, abstract topics.
  • Polished communicator (written/verbal), impeccable interpersonal skills and personal judgment; comfortable briefing or communicating with senior government managers.
  • Master at collaboration and coordination with multiple stakeholders -- consensus builder.
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence.

Desired:

  • Real-time operations experience as a spacecraft operator or spacecraft engineer, familiar with space operations/policies.
  • Familiar with Digital Engineering/Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) and associated tools, Agile development, cloud technologies.
