SAIC is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Junior Project Manager to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and proficient knowledge of Jira. As a Junior Project Manager, you will support the planning, execution, and monitoring of projects to ensure they are completed on time and within scope. You will work closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to drive projects to successful completion.

This is a fully remote job that can be worked anywhere within the U.S.

Responsibilities:

Project Planning and Execution:

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of project plans, schedules, and roadmaps.
  • Coordinate project activities and ensure tasks are completed on time.
  • Support the project team in defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables.

Agile Methodology Implementation:

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Assist in maintaining the Agile framework and ensuring the team follows Agile principles and best practices.
  • Promote continuous improvement and help the team to optimize their Agile process.

Jira Administration:

  • Configure and manage Jira boards, projects, and workflows to align with the team's processes.
  • Track and report on project progress, including burndown charts and velocity.
  • Ensure accurate and up-to-date information in Jira to facilitate project tracking and reporting.

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders in a timely manner.
  • Prepare and deliver project reports and presentations as needed.
  • Act as a point of contact for project team members and stakeholders.

Risk and Issue Management:

  • Identify and document project risks and issues.
  • Assist in developing mitigation strategies and contingency plans.
  •     Monitor and follow up on risk and issue resolution.

Qualifications

REQUIRED CLEARANCE, EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Project Management, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience in project management or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
  • Proficiency in using Jira for project tracking and management.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on quality and accuracy.

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Certification in Agile (e.g., Certified Scrum Master) or Project Management (e.g., CAPM, PMP).
  • Experience with other tools such as Confluence or Microsoft products.
  • Experience in a technology or software development environment.
  • Understanding of software development life cycles (SDLC).

Target salary range: $40,001 - $80,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
