SAIC is seeking an experienced Cloud / Database Architect to join our Agile team supporting our customer the United States Patent and Trademark Office. 

Responsibilities:

• Designs, plans, and integrates cloud computing, data storage, and virtualization systems
• Provides specific, detailed information for hardware and software selection, cloud service provider selection, implementation techniques, application data migration techniques and tools for the most efficient solution to meet business needs, including present and future capacity requirements.
• Develops and conducts testing of cloud, data storage, and virtualization systems.
• Maintains technical expertise relevant industry standards and in cloud computing, data storage, and virtualization technologies including providers, development, deployments, service delivery, data, provisioning, and scaling.
• Evaluates and reports on new cloud and virtualization technologies to enhance capabilities of cloud-based and data services.
• Provide systems engineering activities including System Architecting, System Analysis and Design, Interface and Data Architectures, Validation and Verification, System Integration, System Operations, and Performance.
• Collaborate with Business and IT teams to determine which data is available and useful for the project
• Assist in the development of Agile Epics, Features, and User Stories related to cloud and data storage development.
• Support Agile teams as a subject matter expert
• Analyze data and usage to find patterns and solutions to business challenges
• Process structured and unstructured data where required
• Make business recommendations to stakeholders in a clear manner based on architectural best practices
• Communicate regularly with customers, stakeholders, Agile teams, and management

Qualifications

Required Qualifications: 

• BA/BS degree and 12 years or more of relevant experience 
• AWS Architect certified.
• Kubernetes, OpenShift, Docker
• Automation of OpenSource Middleware stack
• Must have Strong troubleshooting skills and a sense of working within a team.
• Must Have Agile Team experience and experience with Rally or similar tool.
• Strong data analytics experience
• Knowledge of data development tools such as Python
• Strength in Data Management and Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL)
• Strengths in SQL and NoSQL database tools
• Experience with Cloud data management tools
• Problem solving and communication skills
• Systems Modernization experience
• Knowledge of data encryption and security approaches
• AWS, VPC, Auto Scaling, Elastic IP
• SQS, CloudSearch, S3, Glacier, Elastic Load Balancing, Lambda, SNS, Postrges, ECS
• Strong Experience migrating application systems from Oracle to Postgres SQL on AWS Cloud
• Must be able to obtain Public Trust Clearance
  • Must have lived within the United States for the last 2 years

Desired Qualifications:

• Strength in Machine Learning
• Experience with big data and search
• Azure, Google Cloud experience or certification
