Description
Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) is seeking a Senior Network Administrator to join our team in support of the Air Operations Center Weapons System (AOC WS) Falconer Program. The position is located at the USAF customer site in Hampton, VA, and reports to the Fielding, Logistics, & Site Support Team (FLSST) IPT Lead. This position will support activities at Air Operations Centers (AOCs) located at various CONUS and OCONUS Air Force locations. The selected individual will be part of a team that is responsible for the installation, configuration, sustainment, and troubleshooting of Command and Control (C2) systems. This is an onsite position with the potential for travel up to 25% of the time.
This position requires a demonstrated/thorough understanding and application of network administration and configuration management principals and processes, mission planning/scheduling, experience in the sustainment of an existing baseline, and a fundamental ability to troubleshoot and diagnose issues. The successful candidate must be effective at face-to-face interaction with customers (military, government civil service, and contractors) to respond to requests for information and support for technical meetings, technical interchanges, and enterprise working groups. The candidate must be able to work independently and represent the program and SAIC at meetings and working groups with government and associate contractors.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the Technical Project Lead (TPL) with the following:
· Installation of all applicable fielding objectives to include Agile Release Events (AREs), and Critical System Updates (CSUs), Fast Tracks (FTs), Fast Tracks w/ Test and Integration (FTTIs), and applicable Notice to Airmen (NOTAMs) by applicable deadlines or as otherwise directed by the Technical Project Lead (TPL).
· Sustainment, management, and network administration support of the installed AOC baseline.
· Provide technical expertise and support to mitigate risks when transitioning from one fielded baseline to the next.
· Provide support for the following:
o Properly configuring, troubleshooting, and migrating to new AOC infrastructure components
o Data migration (as required)
o Application tuning
o Domain policies
o Applying security patches
o Submitting/closing trouble tickets (as required)
o Configuring the AOC baseline to minimize downtime.
o Closing/resolving action items discovered during site evaluations.
· Attend Technical Interchange Meetings (TIMs), AOC Production Center (PC) engineering and integration meetings, post installation follow-up meetings.
· Submit recommended changes to AOC Configuration Management (CM) personnel and assist in the Request for Variance (RFV) process as required.
· Provide recommendations on performance and security issues, and other items of interest relating to AOC baseline(s).
· Work with key players to identify achievable site-specific objectives.
· Track lessons learned and metrics and share with other members of the team.
· Provide knowledgeable insight while testing/supporting future upgrades being developed by the AOC Production Center (PC).
· Assist with Verification and Validation Assessments and other SPO events as required.

o Nexus Switches (9500 series, 5548UP, 2248TP)
o Cisco Unified Computing System
o Network Appliance (NetApp) (FAS2750s, FAS8200s, FAS8300s)
o NetApp Data OnTap (or other network mass storage solution)
o SolarWinds NPM and NCM
o Cisco Secure ACS or ISE
o Virtual switching technologies (such as VDS)
o Active passport required within 90 days of the date of hire
