SAIC is searching for a Junior Test Engineer to perform support functions for PMS 377 Project Office. Individual provides project support for the administrative control of changes and supports the Project Office in the preparation of presentations and briefs.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Candidate must be able to perform support functions for PMS 377 waterfront production control. Individual tracks the Shipbuilder’s readiness for milestone and key event completion through the surveillance of work aboard the ship and in shops. Develops metrics used to brief the Project and Program Office on the status of LHA Production.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Prepare LHA PMR Waterfront weekly report.
  • Prepare LHA QPR Navy PMR presentation.
  • Provide administration and support for LHA 8 IN Event/One list Discrepancy adjudication.
  • Prepare Task Potential Condition Reports, Admin Packages, Waivers/Deviations, and other Engineering Change Requests as well as processed adjudication.
  • Create and Issue LHA Engineering Drawing Corrective Action Requests (CARs) to Project Engineer for review.
  • Review and Archive LHA invoices and update tracking and progress metrics.
  • Download files and drawings from Wind-chill as requested.
  • Download CAR and Trial Card data from TSM as requested for metric information and Data analysis.
  • Prepare and distribute LHA Weekly CAR Metrics.
  • Observed, witness, and inspect in-progress and finish ship construction.
  • Develop weekly progress reports as requested.
  • Prepare LHA C154 Waterfront Weekly Report. 

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE:

  • Associate degree in business or technical field preferred; 4 years of relevant professional experience required; 10 years preferred
  • Fifteen (15) years of shipyard/shipbuilding experience in ship management or Navy shipboard experience is preferred
  • Expertise in Microsoft Excel functions like SUM, VLOOKUP, IF, XLOOK, UPINDEX MATCH, OFFSET and SUMPRODUCT, PivotTables and visualizations, Automate repetitive tasks efficiently with Excel Macros and VBA and advanced Excel functions to tackle real-world business problems
  • Active Secret clearance
