SAIC is looking for a Paint Technician to support the US Navy in Indianapolis, IN. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Clean and protect surfaces from corrosion.
  • Prepare surfaces for painting.
  • Basic computer skills (Email, Timecard entry, Job tracking and data entry, etc.).
  • Candidate will be expected to follow job routers, travelers, and common shop processes to perform work tasking but also be able to adapt and overcome when appropriate.
  • Read and follow router instructions, engineering diagrams, and prints.
  • Perform repetitive tasks in accordance with standard process and procedures.
  • Work week is: Monday-Friday, 40 hour week, 8 hours per day, 7am to 3:30pm.
  • In the future, candidates may be asked to work a split shift (noon to 8:30pm) or second shift (3pm to 11:30pm).

Qualifications

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma and 5 years or more of painting experience or related/similar technician experience.
  • Previous Experience performing sanding, blending, cleaning, masking, and other tasking related to the preparation of industrial parts for paint finishes.
  • Experience applying primers, sealers, basecoats, color coats with correct formulations as per paint manufacturer specifications.
  • Previous experience with set up, maintaining, and operating typical shop equipment such as sander, Dremel, and impact drill.
  • Basic computer skills (Email, Timecard entry, Job tracking data entry, etc.).

REQUIRED CLEARANCE:

  • Candidates MUST be able to obtain a Secret clearance. US Citizenship is required for clearance. SAIC will assist with clearance process.

DESIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  •  Six years of relevant working experience.
  •  Associate's or bachelor's degree.
  •  Experience with measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.
