Description

SAIC is seeking a certified and knowledgeable networking technician in Crane, IN to build, install, troubleshoot, and maintain hardware and software systems for the CAC2s program.  The ideal candidate will have a working background in networking, software installations, hardware assembly, and the ability to take direction from seasoned team members.   

Job Duties:

  • Assist with technical support for CAC2s-Afloat engineering, network troubleshooting, and software installation of the CAC2s-Afloat shipboard system.
  • Assist with the design, evaluation, and/or modification of networking devices and systems.
  • Assist in design, develop, and construction of the CAC2s-Afloat comms and data enclosure systems.
  • Assistant with software installation and troubleshooting using the SUM.
  • Perform non-routine and complex assignments involving installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of CAC2s-Afloat comms and data enclosure system and their associated networking devices.
  • Work closely with government cross-functional team to integrate network and hardware solutions into existing infrastructure, ensuring seamless operations and minimal disruption in project scheduling and shipboard installations.
  • Implement quality control processes to validate the integrity and performance of networking and hardware installations.
  • Have the ability to read and understand networking diagrams and wiring schematics for shipboard installs and troubleshooting where necessary.
  • Working knowledge of servers, routers, switches, UPS systems, and radios.
  • Understanding of virtualization of routers, switches, and servers.
  • Assist with the installation, configuration, and testing of CAC2s-Afloat system networking and hardware components for shipboard installations.
  • Have the ability to travel and work on shipboard installation teams.

Qualifications

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma and a minimum 2 years of networking experience (certifications accepted in lieu of experience)  DESIRED: AS degree or certifications in lieu of degree.

  • Candidate must have a minimum of 2 years’ of networking troubleshooting (Network+ in lieu of experience). 
  • Must be able to read and understand technical manuals, networking diagrams, wiring schematics, and blueprints.
  • Must be able to assist in the creation and design of technical documents such as training manuals, networking diagrams, wiring schematics, and system blueprints.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of network devices such as routers, servers, switches, UPSs, and radios.
  • Familiarity with network protocols and configuration.
  • Must have excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Must have strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Physical ability to lift to 50 pounds and work in confined spaces when necessary.
  • Must be attentive to details to ensure products meet Government required quality commitments.
  • Must be willing to travel up to 10 times a year to varying locations OCONUS/CONUS.
  • Must be to assist and provide support to teams both organically and inorganically.

CERTIFICATIONS:

  • Required: CompTIA Security+ Certification (DoD 8570)
  • Desired: CompTIA Network+ Certification (DOD 8570)

CLEARANCE: 

  • U.S. citizenship
  • Interim Secret to start work on the contract; Ability to obtain a Secret security clearance.
