SAIC is seeking an experienced Software Product Manager to assist the Chief of Product and Senior Program Manager in development of user needs, manage them through execution and deliver Space Command and Control software systems. You will play a crucial role in providing recommendations translating mission needs into operationally delivered end-to-end software solutions. This position is based in Colorado Springs, CO, and focuses on supporting the Horizon program within the Space Command and Control (Space C2) Program Management Office. As part of this role, you will be collaborating closely with the Space Systems Command's (SSC) Battle Management Command, Control & Communications (BMC3) Program Executive Office. Your primary responsibilities will involve contributing to the development, deployment, modernization, and expansion efforts of the Space C2 program. The position requires you having an in-depth experience with Agile and DevOps methodologies. You will interact and coordinate daily with numerous stakeholders (Program Managers, Contracting Officers, System Engineers, and external/partner organizations). Fun stuff you will do on the job:
- Perform technical planning, high level and detailed requirements definition, software systems integration, and technical support for software systems and subsystems.
- Provide expert advice to the Program Manager and Senior Space Force Leadership regarding strategies and execution.
- Support various software systems, including lifecycle cost analysis and estimation, and decision analysis.
- Manage and integrate activities in accordance with contract requirements and ensure technical, schedule, cost, and financial performance.
- Define or contribute to the program baseline then execute the program to comply with baseline requirements.
- Understand and represent User needs, defining a vision for products, align stakeholders around the vision for the product.
- Support prioritizing product features and capabilities, as well as identify execution issues and provide recommendations when possible.
- Generate presentation materials, status briefings, and strategic communication products to assist the government customer in achieving favorable program outcomes.
- Develop milestone/initiative ideas and recommend to user community in concert with the product vision. Offer actionable recommendations to the senior program manager and chief of product.
- Assigned milestone and initiative tickets to ensure user perspective is maintained all the way through testing and deployment.
- Facilitates developer/user engagements to ensure user-centered design.
- Tells the story of the user need at events/ceremonies.
- Support prioritization of Agile backlogs.
Qualifications
This is you:
- Bachelor’s Degree and 9 years of related experience in acquisitions reviewing status of projects and budgets; managing and preparing status reports (4 additional years of experience may be used in lieu of degree).
- Must have an active Top Secret clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Sensitive Compartmented Information and Special Program access, as well as a willingness to consent to a polygraph examination.
- Ability to interface with all levels of functional/division acquisition offices to accomplish projects for the government program office.
- Experience engaging with users to gather outcomes needed for software.
- Proficient in JIRA and Confluence software development tools.
- Understanding of user-centered design methodologies.
- Comfortable briefing large audiences and senior executives on product vision and software requirements.

- Development of best practices for user needs; analyze system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls, prepare operating instructions, design and develop autonomous services, web applications, scripts, and utility programs.
- Understanding of software changes and configuration management policies, implementing changes within pipeline development. (e.g. access management, monitoring, configuration management, etc.).
- Management of system configuration and monitoring changes to increase effectiveness or efficiencies in the systems capabilities toward monitoring and implementing logical access controls to enforce policy.
- Design, develop, document, test, and debug application software using secure coding practices.
- Experience with Cloud platforms like AWS, GCP and Azure.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes, Online Services, and Active Directory.
- Experience of setting up and leading Agile development.
- Experience with Confluence, JIRA and or smart sheets.
- Certifications in any of the following Cloud Service Providers (CSPs): MAW, Azure, GCP, IBM Cloud, Oracle Cloud, Salesforce, or Adobe Cloud.
Target salary range: $160,001 - $200,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
