Description

SAIC is seeking a System Engineer to join our team of ICBM weapon system analysts. Commit your talents to the critical Department of Defense (DoD) mission of nuclear deterrence by helping sustain and improve the Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) leg of the United States Nuclear Triad. This position is located at Hill AFB. 

The specific responsibilities of the Systems Engineer Principal will be working with the Major Maintenance Vehicle design and the Support Equipment design.  These pieces of equipment are responsible for the transportation, handling, support, test, and measurement of the full weapon system. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the acquisition of the Sentinel ICBM weapon system.
  • Apply systems engineering principles to analyze, design, and implement solutions for the Sentinel ICBM system.
  • Collaborate with a team of analysts to ensure the reliability and effectiveness of the Sentinel ICBM weapon system.
  • Participate in the development and deployment of engineering solutions to meet DoD requirements.
  • Engage with stakeholders to understand and address their needs and requirements.
  • Continuously improve engineering processes and methodologies to enhance system performance and reliability.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Systems Engineering, or a related field with 9+ years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with 7+ years of relevant experience.
  • Must have a min. Secret Clearance and the ability to obtain TS/SCI.
  • Proven experience in systems engineering and defense systems.
  • Strong understanding of systems engineering processes, methods, and tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong written, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Experience supporting US Federal Government agencies and processes.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience with ICBM systems or other strategic weapon systems.
  • Knowledge of DoD acquisition processes and lifecycle management.
  • Familiarity with digital engineering tools and methodologies.
  • INCOSE Certification (ASEP, CSEP, or ESEP) is a plus.
