SAIC is seeking a Sr Geographic Information Systems (GIS) Analyst/Software Developer to join an exciting program in Springfield VA.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Candidate will support our team as a database and software developer.  The candidate’s duties will be assisting the primary developer with maintaining, updating, and identifying new sources of information in support of a small community of GIS users. 

JOB DUTIES:

• Assisting the primary developer with maintaining, updating, and identifying new sources of information to a community of GIS users.
• Geo-referencing images; extracting information from documents for database population.
• Downloading data from various networks for ingestion into the new/existing databases.
• Assisting individuals using GIS software.
• Maintaining historical information on features of interest.
• Providing one-on-one training and demonstrations.
• Coordinating data sharing with other sites.
• Reviewing/updating documentation.
• Performing database configuration management functions and developing map products for the customer.
• Assisting other sites with database and product development.
• Developing custom functionality to ingest new datasets or provide to the GIS user.
• Upgrading existing custom functionality to meet software vendor requirements. 

Qualifications

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND CLEARANCE: 

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical/STEM field and five (5) years’ experience.  Additional years’ experience accepted in lieu of a degree.
• Candidate shall have at least 2 years’ experience producing GIS products using ArcGIS Desktop software. 
• US Citizen with an active Top Secret clearance with eligibility for access to sensitive compartmented information (TS/SCI). Ability to obtain a TS/SCI w/CI poly.

DESIRED EXPERIENCE:

• Bachelor’s Degree in GIS.
• Experience with ESRI’s ArcGIS Pro and ArcMap.
• Visual Studio experience for maintaining/upgrading C# tools embedded in ArcGIS Pro.
• ArcGIS Pro experience using python to create custom geoprocessing tools.
• An active Top Secret clearance with access to SCI and CI Polygraph.
• Environmental Systems Research Institute (ESRI) technical certifications desired.
