Job Description

Description

Seeking a Modeling and Simulation (M&S) Software Developer to work in a fast paced environment with simulation-driven assessments and products. SAIC has been a leader supporting the Integrated Air & Missile Defense (IAMD) community for more than 30+ years. Beginning with President Reagan’s vision of the Strategic Defense Initiative for ballistic missile defense and the OSD/USAF Air Defense Initiative. SAIC’s M&S tools span the spectrum from very high fidelity engineering tools performing component assessments to force-on-force level simulations examining architecture level performance. We have many years of providing great service to the MDA, JIAMDO, OSD, COCOM, STRATCOM, and DARPA. Be part of an integral team that is defining and testing the Ballistic Missile Defense System (BMDS). This job is a Full Time hybrid role. Work is performed 4 days at the office in Arlington, VA with 1 day remote / virtual.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise and support as a M&S Software Developer.
  • Understand current and future missile defense architecture functionality.
  • Implement advanced concepts, capabilities, and behavior into the simulations.
  • Develop new capabilities on simulations used for integrated air and missile defense (IAMD) analysis.
  • Participate in studies by utilizing various M&S tools and providing insightful analysis.

Qualifications

  • C++ development is required. Java, Fortran, Python, and Perl experience is highly desirable.
  • Strong working knowledge of Linux and associated libraries and utilities.
  • Familiarity with containers and container management tools such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience configuring and maintaining DevOps continuous pipelines based on GitLab, Jenkins, or similar tools.
  • Experience with Agile development and Atlassian products.
  • Bachelors and five (5) years or more experience; Masters and 3 years related experience in engineering, physical science, computer science, operations research, mathematics, or other STEM fields is required.
  • Us citizenship and the ability to obtain a DoD Secret security clearance is required.

SAIC accepts applications on an ongoing basis and there is no deadline.
